Hand Rearing Birds Other Than Parrots?

hand raised parrot
chocoboryo asked:

If a finch, canary, dove (such as masked or diamond), or quail is hand raised, will they always be tame as long as they have that continuous interaction with people?

I take it that ringneck doves can be parent raised and still easily tamed? Are any other doves like this?

Is it frowned upon to hand raise finches as pets (when there is nothing wrong with the parents and hand rearing isn’t neccasary)?

How does hand raising these birds differ from hand raising parrots? (besides the obvious one of quails eating on their own from birth and different species take different amounts of time to grow)

Thank you. :) Also… yes, I do know what hand rearing birds involve and I have a little experience (only one instance though… hand raised finches).

No, I’m not planning on hand rearing right now, if at all (and not necessarily any of the species I am talking about). Although I would like to hand raise parrots at some point of my life.

Yes, I would always do thorough research and under the guide of an experienced person before doing anything like this.

Just making it clear. :)
